International Programme for Applied Canine Studies

The International Programme for Applied Canine Studies is, taught by Sheila Harper, is accredited by the Open College Network. Attendance- based, this part-time course fills the demand for an in- depth nationally recognised course, incorporating four certificates at Level 4: Communication and Handling, Training, Canine Behaviour and Instructing Dog Training Classes. Training, behaviour and communication should go hand in hand, as often the symptoms of problem behaviour, stress and the inability to learn are targeted for modification, ignoring the underlying causes. At the core of this in-depth educational programme is not the method, nor what the trainer or behaviourist “wants”, but the needs and individuality of each dog and owner.
